What teams save with Digital Rebar
Digital Rebar is the most complete enterprise bare metal automation platform available. Licensing is a modular subscription — pick a base edition, add the modules you run, and scale support to match. Pricing is quote-based and tailored to your fleet.

Mix and match
Your independent options
Beyond your edition, license model, infrastructure coverage, modules, and support are each chosen separately. Here’s what each one means.
Modules — add any
License model — Factory vs Lifecycle
Provision only
Factory
Zero-touch provisioning to a known-good state — discovery, RAID/BIOS, firmware, OS image, and first-boot config. Built for high-volume build and refresh.
Provision + management
Lifecycle
Everything in Factory, plus ongoing Day 2 — reprovision, reset, drift correction, and updates across the full hardware lifecycle.
Infrastructure coverage
License up to 5, 10, or 20 HW·OS·CPU combinations — chosen independently of your edition, license model, and modules, so coverage scales with your fleet’s infrastructure diversity.
Upgrade to 24×7 premium support
Round-the-clock support plus architecture reviews — above the base 8×5 support included with every edition.

How licensing works
Simple, predictable licensing
— zero lock-in
Licensing maps to how you actually run infrastructure — and you stay in control of your own environment.
Fully behind your firewall
Regardless of tier, you manage and operate Digital Rebar yourself. Your control plane never depends on RackN being online — no managed lock-in.
Physical vs virtual devices
Physical devices are licensed as unique, persistent systems. Virtual devices are licensed as a pool of possible instances — built for the ephemeral way VMs come and go.
Licensed per machine & node
Subscriptions are counted by unique physical machine and by virtual host / node — a simple, predictable count. No usage metering or per-provision billing.
Questions
Licensing FAQ
Q. What's the difference between Platform and Enterprise?
Both editions include 8×5 support, Multi-Site Manager, the Content Plug-In Library, certification across 1000s of HW/OS/CPU combinations, and up to 5 HW/Proc/OS combinations. Enterprise adds High Availability, Air Gap Deployment, and Self-Hosted UX for regulated and HA-critical fleets.
Q. What are the OpenShift and VCF modules?
Optional add-ons that layer onto either edition, licensed by Module Virtual Hosts / Nodes. The OpenShift module covers up to 10 HW/Proc/OS combinations (Factory — provision only); the VCF module covers up to 20 combinations with full Lifecycle (provision + management).
Q. What does the 24×7 premium support tier add?
Round-the-clock support plus architecture reviews, above the 8×5 support included with every edition.
Q. Can I run in an air-gapped or HA environment?
Yes. Air Gap Deployment, High Availability, and Self-Hosted UX are part of the Digital Rebar Enterprise edition — all behind your firewall.
Q. Do you offer professional services?
Yes — architecture, assessment, training, implementation, integration, and custom hardware/software engagements are available alongside any subscription.
Q. How can I see Digital Rebar before buying?
Schedule a live demo with our team, or view a recorded walkthrough on your own schedule. We’ll then map your environment to the right edition and modules and put together a quote.
