RackN was founded with vision of operators working together to improve IT operations through shared software and community regardless of infrastructure type.

Leadership Team

Rob Hirschfeld, Founder & CEO

Rob Hirschfeld is CEO and co-founder of RackN, bringing 25+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating data centers from early-stage startups to executive roles at Dell. A 2025 Vistage Impact Award winner, Rob holds patents spanning early virtualized cloud infrastructure through the advanced automation techniques that power RackN today. He is a frequent industry speaker, board contributor, and hosts the2030.cloud AI and infrastructure operations podcast. A proud Baltimore native, Rob holds engineering degrees from Duke University and LSU.

Greg Althaus, Founder & CTO

Greg is founder and CTO of RackN, with 25+ years designing and delivering large-scale systems across networking, security, and operations. A patent holder, his career spans major players (IBM, Dell, NetApp) and startups — including leading Dell’s Crowbar project, the foundation for Digital Rebar and RackN. Native Texan and proud University of Texas at Austin grad.

Jeanette Sullivan, COO/CFO

Jeanette is a North Carolina CPA with 30 years of experience guiding organizations through transitions, nationally and internationally. Her career spans Andersen Consulting’s large systems implementation practice, PwC’s crisis management practice (SEC investigations, litigation, bankruptcy), and an SVP Finance role at a Regions Bank Financial subsidiary — where she grew AUM from $1B to $2.2B, expanded into 7 countries, and increased margin by 15%. Jeanette also holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Jay Newberger,
Customer Success Executive

Jay brings 25+ years in Customer Engagement, Managed Services, and BPO, serving large multinational clients across cable, media, tolling, and healthcare. At Etan Industries and Waterfield Technologies, he built infrastructure solutions for Comcast, AT&T, Spectrum, Cox Communications, and multiple state tolling agencies. An Omni-Channel change leader known for driving efficiency and customer care outcomes. UT Austin grad and lifelong Longhorns fan.

Edward Janowiak,
VP Engineering

Edward is an engineering executive with 20+ years in telecommunications and broadband, having held senior cloud strategy and architecture roles at Charter Communications, Time Warner Cable, and other Fortune 100 companies — leading large-scale infrastructure transformation and complex M&A integrations. Known for servant leadership and translating technical depth into strategic momentum. When not building teams, he’s on the water sailing.

Dan Choquette,
VP Customer Growth & Partnerships

Dan is VP of Growth and Partnerships at RackN, focused on new customer acquisition, expansion, and strategic partnerships as RackN moves to dominate the infrastructure automation and lifecycle mangement market. He brings 20+ years of global leadership from Progress Software-Chef, CA Technologies, Rackspace, and Dell — consistently accelerating product and services revenue through partnerships built on delivering real customer value and ROI. Dan and his wife Lori live in Massachusetts with their three daughters and three dogs.

William Mapp, VP Marketing

Will is VP of Marketing at RackN, with nearly two decades embedded in cloud infrastructure and data center technology — spanning the Open Compute Foundation, the OpenStack ecosystem, and GigaOm’s infrastructure research practice. A US patent holder who has led engineering projects, rearchitected platforms, and delivered technology consulting to Fortune 500 enterprises including KeyBank, he brings genuine technical depth to go-to-market strategy. Having lived and worked across four continents, he leads RackN’s GTM with equal fluency in the technology and the market.
