RackN has released Digital Rebar v4.7 for general use. In addition to a major RackN UX update, this release rolls up a range of Digital Rebar fixes and performance improvements.

Important Notices

For v4.7, operators should be aware that Port 8090 is now required to be accessible for Digital Rebar endpoints.  This change is a security enhancement that allows operators to isolate HTTPS provisioning traffic from API traffic on public facing endpoints.  All 4.7+ deployments are impacted by this new requirement.

Also, changes to the DRP.zip install package require using the v4.7 DRPCLI or UX when performing upgrades.

Significant UX Improvements

This release includes RackN UX enhancements for all v4.x generations of Digital Rebar. The refactored UX includes significant performance improvements as well as resizable columns, and a floating edit page.

Notable enhancements included in Digital Rebar 4.7:

  • IBM LPAR and SuperMicro hardware support
  • Installation instructions will default to streamlined bootstrapping with –universal flag
  • Updates to ESXi install workflow to reduce boot environments from Vendor ISO sprawl
  • Rocky and Alma Linux added to Universal Workflow

Our next release, v4.8, is planned for October 2021.
