Free Trial License
We offer a free 20 machine 30-day self-trial as well as a Community License for non-commercial and home use. Contact RackN during your trial period and ask to be migrated to a Community License. No payment is required, but you must provide a valid email address.
Physical vs Virtual Devices
RackN licenses Physical Devices as unique systems that are persistent over time. Virtual Devices are not tracked as unique or persistent systems; instead, the total number of possible Virtual Devices is licensed to allow for the ephemeral nature of these systems. This distinction reflects the anticipated use of each resource type.

Provision vs Machine
RackN offers two license models: per provision activity and per unique machine. An activity is counted when a machine has one or more provisioning activities within a month. These are tracked automatically and reported to RackN for billing purposes. Unique machines is a simple count of uniquely registered devices.
Community License
RackN offers a no-cost Community License for non-commercial and home use. Contact RackN during your trial license period and ask to be migrated to a Community License. No payment is required, but you must provide a valid email address.
